This 4 day gorilla tracking safari offers you the opportunity to double track mountain gorillas in both Rwanda and Uganda. You will explore the gorillas which are sheltered on Rwanda side in Volcanoes National Park and those sheltered on Ugandan side in Bwindi Impenetrable National Park. Having a chance to see some of the last remaining 800 mountain gorillas in the world is a wonderful experience in their main habitat.

Day 1: Transfer to Volcanoes National Park

Day 1: Transfer to Volcanoes National Park

Transfer from Kigali to Volcanoes National Park. On arrival at the hotel, check in the hotel then transfer to the twin lakes.

Accommodation: Mountain Gorilla View Lodge.         

Day 2: Gorilla Tracking & Local Experiences

Brief of the day: Early breakfast at 6 am then transfer to the park at 7 am for briefings and grouping. Option to visit Buhanga forest in the afternoon where all the Rwanda kings were initiated or Kinigi Cultural Village for traditional dances and music, bio-mimicry and traditional healing lessons.

After completing our park formalities, we are embark on a once in a life time experience of tracking mountain gorillas.

Once you spot them you are allowed to spend an hour watching your closest long lost cousin. This is perhaps one of the most breathtaking wildlife experiences on earth!!! You get so close to these awesome giant primates. You stare at each other blankly not knowing who to break the long silence first. Tracking the gorillas through the light mountain forest on the slopes of the Virunga is a magical experience.

Be back at the base in time for lunch! Some gorilla families however are more elusive and tracking can take a full day, especially when it is wet and muddy. Transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable forest. Dinner and overnight

Day 3: Gorilla Tracking in Bwindi Impenetrable National Park

Early morning breakfast and briefing before entering the thickest Jungles of Bwindi to track gorillas. Tracking may take 6 to 8 hours but chances are quite high to see the rare mountain gorillas.

Accommodation: Gorilla Valley lodges.

Day 4: Depart For Kigali

Transfer from Bwindi back to Kigali – Evening transfer to the airport.
