This 11 Day Primates & Wildlife Safari in Uganda and Tanzania starts from Entebbe Uganda and ends in Arusha Tanzania. The safari takes you to Kibale National Park for Chimpanzee tracking, Bwindi Impenetrable National Park for gorilla tracking, Lake Manyara National Park, Serengeti National Park and Tarangire National Park for extensive wild game viewing including the Big five of African Wild game.

Day 1: Arrival in Uganda

Day 1: Arrival in Uganda

On arrival, you will meet the StarMount Safaris’ tour guide/driver at Entebbe International Airport. You will then be transferred to your hotel where you will spend a night as you wait to start your safari the next day.

Day 2: Transfer to Kibale National Park & visit to the Amabere g’Nyinamwiru caves

Enjoy an early morning breakfast and thereafter you will commence on your journey to Kibale National Park. While on the drive, you will be exploring and viewing the scenic landscapes of Western Uganda such as; the lush vegetation, the small towns, distant views of Lake Wamara and extensive beautiful tea estates as you approach Fort Portal town.  You will have lunch in Fort Portal town. After lunch you will then proceed with a visit to the Amabere g’Nyinawiru Caves for a cultural experience as you learn about the history behind these caves which the locals believe that they hold the breasts of Nyinamwiru the daughter of Bukuku, the self-enthroned King of the Bachwezi known to have inhabited the great lakes region in the ancient times.  From the caves, you will be transferred to your lodge for your overnight stay.

Day 3: Full day Chimpanzee Habituation Experience

After your early breakfast, you will head out for a full day Chimpanzee habituation experience in Kibale National Park. You will be transferred to Kanyanchu Park headquarters where you start with a briefing from the Uganda Wildlife Authority Park rangers. Enjoy this whole day experience as you catch up with the chimpanzees setting out of their nests to start the day. You join them as they undertake their hunting, playing, mating, patrolling and feeding among other features from morning till evening at around 7 pm when they make new nests for overnight. This is a very detailed encounter with one of the Great Ape Species. Thereafter, you will be transferred to your lodge for the overnight stay.

Day 4: Transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park via Queen Elizabeth National Park Ishasha Sector

After breakfast at the lodge, you embark on your journey to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park driving along the fascinating scenic landscapes like the Rwenzori Mountains with its glacial peaks and the savannah stretches of Queen Elizabeth National Park. You will drive through Queen Elizabeth National Park for a game drive in its southern sector of Ishasha where you are to view the unique tree-climbing lions and while on this game drive you have chances of viewing other wildlife such as; buffaloes, elephants, and more wildlife. After the game drive, you will proceed to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park. You will check into your lodge and relax.

Day 5: Gorilla Tracking

You will have breakfast and thereafter you will head out for gorilla tracking in Bwindi Impenetrable National Park. You will be transferred to the park headquarters and in the company of the ranger guides, you traverse the forest jungle, hiking steep slopes and descending narrow valleys not forgetting crossing the seasonal streams in search of these endangered apes. The whole encounter can last about 2 – 8 hours with one full hour of spending with the gorillas. Thereafter you will return to your lodge.

Day 6:  Fly from Kisoro Airstrip to Entebbe & take a flight to Kilimanjaro International Airport

After breakfast, the guide will transfer you to Kisoro Airstrip to catch a scheduled Aero Link flight which departs at 9.10 am and arrives at 11.25 am at Entebbe International Airport. Thereafter you will take your flight to Kilimanjaro International Airport. On arrival, you will be picked up by our representative in Tanzania who will transfer you to your hotel for the overnight stay.

Day 7:  Transfer to Tarangire National Park

You will be picked up at your hotel in Moshi/Arusha at 07.30 hrs and transferred to the Tarangire National Park to start off your game viewing experience in this magnificent park which is famous for its large collection of baobab trees, spectacular large mammal population and variety of bird species, not to mention one of the largest concentration of elephants in the country. After your tour around the park, you will be transferred to your tented camp where you will be spending the night.

Day 8:  Transfer to Serengeti National Park

You will start your safari at 07.00 hrs and head to Serengeti National Park, to kick off day two of your safari. You will pass by a traditional Maasai Boma along the way to experience the ways of life of the Maasai people. You will enter the Serengeti at around noon and spend the rest of your afternoon exploring its world-renowned endless plains in search of one of the greatest wildlife spectacles in the world, the great annual migration. After your game drive, you will be taken to your tented camp/lodge where you will be spending the night.

Day 9:  Game Drive in Serengeti National Park

You will spend the next two full days exploring the amazing variety of mammals, birds and reptile species the park has to offer and not to forget the breathtaking scenery and sunsets. After your tour of the park, you will be transferred to your tented camp/lodge where you will be spending the night.

Day 10:  Game Drive in Serengeti National Park

You will check out of the hotel at 07.00 hrs and head to Serengeti National Park, to kick off day three of your safari in Serengeti. You will pass by a traditional Maasai Boma on the way to experience the ways of life of the Maasai people. While in Serengeti you will explore its world-renowned endless plains in search of one of the greatest wildlife spectacles in the world, the great annual migration.

Day 11:  Game Drive in Lake Manyara National Park & Departure

You will check out of the camp at around 07.00 hrs and head to Lake Manyara National Park for your final game drive. The park is renowned for its elusive tree-climbing lions and diverse bird life. After your tour around the beautiful lake and the amazing groundwater forest, you will be transferred back to Kilimanjaro International Airport in the afternoon via curio shops where you can buy some souvenirs to take back home with you.
