Kigali Genocide Memorial is the site where over 259,000 genocide victims were put to rest in mass graves as their final resting place. It honors the memory of more than a million Rwandese that were killed in the 1994 war between the Hutus and Tutsi through education and peace building.

It was his former home that was turned into the Historical museum in 2006. Late evening you proceed to Musanze town near Volcanoes National Park. Dinner and overnight.

Day 2: Gorilla Tracking & Local Experiences

Enjoy an early morning breakfast by 6:00 Am then transfer to the park headquarters at 7:00 Am for briefings and grouping. Guests are allocated their specific Gorilla groups for tracking in respect to their physical abilities. Thereafter you are transferred to the various starting points for trekking. The tracking lasts about 1 to 6 hours depending on how soon the gorillas are encountered as they keep moving from one point to another. Upon seeing them, you are allowed to spend an hour with them as you take their photographs. Thereafter you return to the pickup point where your vehicle is stationed so that you transferred to your next program, lunch.

After lunch, you are driven back to your hotel to rest. Alternatively, you could opt to visit Buhanga Forest in the afternoon, a place where all the Rwanda kings were initiated or Kinigi Cultural Village for traditional dances and music, bio-mimicry and traditional healing lessons.

Accommodation: Gorilla Hotel.

Day 3: Diana Fossey Tombs

The famous American primatologist, Diana Fossey, started work in Volcanoes National Park in 1967 and was killed in 1985 while doing what she liked most; protecting the mountain gorillas. A visit to her tombs in the park is one of the rewarding things for her great work to save and conserve mountain gorillas.
