Day 2: Transfer to Murchison Falls National Park

On this day, your tour guide/ driver will pick you up from the hotel after your breakfast. You will continue your journey to Murchison Falls National Park one of the oldest conservation areas in Uganda. And the biggest National Park in Uganda. It's known for its powerful, scenic waterfalls. The journey to Murchison Falls is long but very rewarding, you will go through various landscapes.

Day 3: Game Drive, Boat Ride & Top of the falls

After an early breakfast, you will be taken for an early morning drive in the national park by your tour guide. While driving through the park you will see a variety of animals from Giraffes, elephants, lions, buffalos, antelopes, warthogs and many tropical birds and much more. The animals are easy to spot while on the drive. However, you have to keep a lookout not to miss any animals.

In the afternoon, after your lunch, you will embark on a boat safari towards the Murchison Falls. This is a special activity, it takes approximately 3 hours and goes along the Victoria Nile to the base of the Falls. You can imagine; this boat safari will show you breathtaking scenery. You will also get to see schools of hippos in the water as you sail along.

If you like hiking, the boat can drop you near the waterfalls and you can hike up to the top (this takes around 1 or 1,5 hours). The views are amazing!

Day 4: Transfer to Kibale Forest National Park

On this day, you will continue your journey to Kibale Forest. The drive is incredibly scenic, passing through tea plantations and the lush green countryside which characterizes so much of Uganda. On arrival at the forest, you will enter a completely different world where you will see monkeys playing, crossing the road and picking insects from each other.

Kibale Forest is famous for chimpanzee tracking. The national park is home to a total of 70 mammal species and 13 species of primates. It also has over 375 species of birds.

On arrival you will check into the lodge and relax.

Day 5: Chimpanzee tracking

After an early breakfast, your guide will take you for an early morning brief before the chimpanzee tracking. Chimpanzees are found in 21 countries throughout Africa but are most easily sighted in Uganda due to their dense populations. Today, in Uganda, there are approximately 5,000 chimpanzees left in the wild. Other than chimpanzees, you can find red colobus, red-tailed guenon, white-nosed monkey, grey-cheeked mangabey, blue monkey, L'Hoest's monkey, and the black and white colobus monkey. In addition, you may see olive baboons, bush babies and nocturnal pottos.

Thereafter you will be transferred back to the lodge.

Day 6: Transfer to Queen Elizabeth National Park

After breakfast, your guide will transfer you to Queen Elizabeth National Park. Queen Elizabeth National Park is located in the South-Western part of Uganda. It is the most visited national park in the country and this is because of the beautiful scenic views and the tree-climbing lions. It is the second-largest park in the country and located at the base of the majestic Rwenzori Mountain range, next to Lake Edward and Lake George which are joined by the Kazinga channel.

On arrival, you will check into the lodge and relax.

Day 7: Game Drive & Boat Safari

After an early breakfast, you will go for a long game drive in time to see the sunrise. The morning is the best time for a game drive as the animals are more active in the morning. You will continue the search for all the wildlife; elephant, buffalo, lion, waterbuck, leopard, Uganda kob, warthog and do not forget about the birds and the primates.

In the afternoon, you will go on a boat ride on the Kazinga channel. While on this ride you will see a lot of hippos as well as a variety of other animals which come to the waterhole to drink. You can expect to see: Buffalo, Crocodile, bathing Elephant, and a range of beautiful birds. This will undoubtedly be one of the highlights of your tour.

Thereafter you will be transferred back to the lodge.

Day 8: Transfer to Ishasha tree-climbing lions

After a heavy breakfast, you will drive for about 2,5 hours to the southern part of Queen Elizabeth National Park. This part is famous for its’ tree-climbing lions. While lion cubs around the world frequently climb trees for fun, adults rarely do. However, these lionesses enjoy spending the hot afternoons snoozing in fig trees to get away from the tsetse flies and to enjoy a cool breeze. This is the most memorable sight in the park.

Day 9: Transfer to Bwindi Forest National Park

Today you drive to Kisoro in the south-western part of Uganda; close to the borders with Rwanda and Congo. You cross a beautiful part of the country often referred to as ‘the Switzerland of Africa’. You will see a great country-side, bamboo forest and have great views over the Virunga Mountains. On arrival, you will check into the lodge and relax.

Day 10: Gorilla Tracking in Bwindi Forest

On this day you will be tracking Gorillas. The guide will take you to the briefing point where the rangers will brief you on the Dos and Donts of the forest.  Prepare yourself for an encounter with one of Bwindi’s gentle giants: the rare mountain Gorillas,

Bwindi Impenetrable National Park lies in southwestern Uganda on the edge of the Rift Valley. Uganda's oldest and most biologically diverse rainforests. The Bwindi forest has an incredible diversity of flora and fauna and is the only forest in Africa which can make claim to hosting both mountain gorillas and chimpanzees. Half the worlds’ population of gorillas live here divided over nine habituated family groups.

The gorillas you will trek belong to one of nine family groups who can tolerate the presence of humans for a brief period every day. Your trek will be an exciting journey along forested slopes, entwined vines, bushes and bamboo before you eventually reach the gentle giants.

Once the family of gorillas has been located, you will be allowed a maximum of one hour observing them. Coming face-to-face with the mountain gorillas is a truly humbling and emotional experience. This is a fantastic part of your tour you will definitely remember for the rest of your life.

 Day 11: Transfer to Lake Mburo National Park

After breakfast, you will check out of the lodge. On this day you will visit the batwa tribe for a cultural experience. It is one of the activities that can be done near Bwindi National Park. For several years before Bwindi Impenetrable National Park was gazetted as a National park, this forest was home to the Batwa Pygmies who were referred to as the original dwellers and keepers of this tropical rainforest.

Thereafter you will continue with your journey to Lake Mburo National Park. This park is the smallest National Park Uganda. This is the only place in southern Uganda to see zebras and the only park in the country with impalas, slender mongoose and giant bush rats. You can also look for hyenas, leopards, topis, elands and the beautiful Rothschild's giraffes, not to mention the lake itself which is teeming with hippos and crocodiles. There are a lot of wonderful activities on offer, such as horse-riding, bush walks, boat safari on the lake and a mountain bike safari. It is exciting to approach the wildlife at such close range, especially combining the fresh air with the beautiful scenery of Lake Mburo National Park.

Day 12: Transfer to Entebbe

After breakfast, you will check out of the lodge and be transferred to Kampala. The guide will drop you off at Entebbe International Airport in time for your onward flight back home.
